On December 31, Ukrainians and the country’s energy system survived yet another massive attack by the Russian Federation. According to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, the terrorist state launched attacks on civil infrastructure in several regions, as a result of which residential buildings, a hotel, a store, and a place of celebrations were damaged. One person died, and 16 were injured. On the night of January 1, the Russians used drones in an attack, of which 45 were destroyed. As a result of the night raid, one of the infrastructure facilities in the Kyiv region and Kyiv was damaged. In addition, on the night of January 2, the Russians again attacked energy infrastructure with drones. Air defense forces destroyed 39 Shahed drones, 2 Orlan-10 drones, and one Kh-59 missile. The situation in the power system is entirely under control, according to a statement from the energy company, Ukrenergo.
