Romania will transition the port channel

Ukraine and Romania have agreed on joint actions to accelerate freight transportation on the Danube River. According to the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA), they envisage more than doubling the number of Ukrainian pilots from 16 to 40 and infrastructure modernization for the Sulyn Canal in Romania and its transition to 24-hour operation. “We have developed a road map for joint actions and expect a significant effect and the absence of queues at the exit soon,” said the head of the USPA, Oleksiy Vostrikov. During the war, a significant portion of Ukrainian exports have begun to go through the Danube and the Sulyn Sea Canal, the middle of the three large channels in the Danube Delta and the main shipping channel in the mouth of the Danube in Romania.
