Retail turnover in Ukraine grew by 7.3% in half a year.

Retail trade turnover  in Ukraine for January-June 2023 in comparative prices increased by 7.3% compared to the same period in 2022, the State Statistics Service reported. In June of this year, a 23.3% increase in retail turnover was recorded compared to last June, which is slightly less than the figure in May, when it was 24.3%.

At the same time, turnover from retail trade enterprises (legal entities) in the first half of the year increased by 4.9% in comparative prices compared to the first half of 2022. Including June 2023, the growth was 19.1% compared to 20.7% in May.

In nominal terms, Ukraine’s retail trade turnover in January-June amounted to ₴820.9B, and retail trade enterprises were ₴553.6B.

The data does not consider territories temporarily occupied by Russia and territories where hostilities are (were) taking place. Note that last year, retail turnover in Ukraine fell by 21.4%.
