The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that a new ground-based air defense coalition was formed at the meeting, and has been joined by 20 countries, led by Germany and France. This equipment is in addition to about $1.4B in aid that was announced during the German Minister of Defense’s visit to Kyiv, that includes IRIS-T systems, 8,000 new anti-tank mines, a Patriot system, and additional 155 mm artillery. All of this should arrive in Ukraine by mid-December.
In addition, the Netherlands has prepared €2B to be used for military aid to Ukraine.
IT Coalition Leader – Estonia is providing $500,000 in funding for IT coalition activities in addition to Luxembourg’s €10M commitment.
The UK and Norway, within the Maritime Coalition, will look for ways to strengthen security in the Black Sea.
Since April 2022, the countries that are part of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine have provided over $80B in security assistance to the Ukrainian military.
