The Ministries of Defense of Denmark, the Netherlands, the UK, and the US have announced that they are working to supply Ukraine with urgently needed air defense equipment, including anti-aircraft missiles of various ranges and their systems for protecting the Ukrainian sky. The transfer process has started and will be completed within a few weeks.
As US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin said at the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine meeting, Canada has allocated a $500M aid package. It will include more than 200 air defense missiles. Italy also announced it will send additional military aid.
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksiy Reznikov, said that during Ramstein summit he received guarantees regarding the start of training for Ukrainian pilots on modern fighter jets and to build an air coalition. The Netherlands and Denmark will be the first countries to provide F-16 jets, and will be joined by other countries, Reznikov noted.
