Canadian private business is ready to support Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction, Canadian Trade Minister Mary Angie said. She emphasized that the modernization of the Free Trade Agreement between Canada and Ukraine “confirms commitment to our Ukrainian friends and support for the long-term stability, security and economic recovery of Ukraine.”

However, the Conservative Party of Canada in the House of Commons voted against the renewed free trade agreement. “This has never been seen before, and it’s a surprise,” Canadian PM Justin Trudeau commented on the decision. In his opinion, this is a general trend among right-wing and extreme right-wing parties in the world, which refuse to support Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the Latvian government has allocated €5M for the Chernihiv region’s reconstruction in 2023 and plans to give the same amount next year.

Moreover, the European Commission will provide €50M to repair port infrastructure to facilitate the further export of Ukrainian grain.
