Polish carriers have reached an agreement with the government on some of their demands and will suspend their protest at the border. The Ukraine State Border Guard confirmed that Polish carriers have stopped blocking the border at the Korczowa-Krakowiec, Hrebenne-Rawa-Ruska, and Jagodzin-Dorohusk checkpoints.
At the same time, the EC has refused Poland’s request to restore tariff quotas for several Ukrainian products.
Poland’s Minister of Agriculture, Czeslaw Siekierski, confirmed that the EC is preparing a draft resolution on extending duty-free trade with Ukraine until June 2025. However, he noted that he will soon speak with the European Commissioner for Trade, Valdis Dombrovskis, about the current situation related to the excessive import of agricultural goods from Ukraine and changes to the EU regulation on duty-free trade with Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Romanian farmers, despite the agreement with the government, continue to partially block the movement of trucks at the Siret and Vicovu de Sus checkpoints.
