The Polish Minister of EU Affairs said that Poland may reduce its support to Ukraine due to the crisis arising over importing agricultural products from Ukraine. In his arguments, he referred to the volume of further aid to Ukraine depending on public support from Poles, which is decreasing.
At the same time, the minister emphasized that Poland will be “relentless” regarding the embargo if Ukrainian agricultural products “threaten” Polish farmers.
Meanwhile, the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council demands, in addition to a WTO lawsuit, additional measures against the countries that have extended their restrictions. The Agrarian Council emphasizes that individual countries restrict not only imports but also the transit of products, both openly and covertly, through various bureaucratic levers.
Instead, Poland warned Ukraine against the escalation of the trade conflict and threatened to extend the ban after the Ukrainian president raised the issue at the UN General Assembly.
