Poland opens an energy hub to provide emergency aid to Ukraine.

Poland’s new rescEU energy hub will act as a logistics center for supplying emergency energy aid to Ukraine. EU Commissioner for Crisis Management Janez Lenarchych believes that the hub will help increase energy donations to Ukraine. The rescEU hub will primarily be used to deliver electricity generators. It will allow international partners and the private sector to channel aid to Ukraine with the EU fully financing its transportation. To fill the hub with generators, the EU has allocated €114M to Poland. In the first stage, 1,000 new generators will be delivered to Ukraine, complementing the 1,400 generators and millions of energy system components that has already been provided under the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.
