import Norwegian gas.

On September 27, Poland officially opened a gas pipeline called the Baltic Pipe with a capacity of 10 billion cubic meters per year. It will become a new channel for Norwegian gas to Europe, reports TVN24. Baltic Pipe is one of the Polish government’s main projects to ensure energy security and complete independence from Russian gas. The start of full gas transportation through the Baltic Pipe system to Poland via Denmark is scheduled for October 1. As a result, not only will Poland be able to import Norwegian gas through Denmark for the first time, but also its neighboring countries, particularly Slovakia and the Czech Republic, will also have access to Denmark’s gas. The pipeline is expected to reach full capacity by the end of November. Ukraine also hopes to increase gas imports through the Polish pipeline via Slovakia.
