The tobacco company Philip Morris International reported that construction of a new factory in the Lviv region will begin in July to replace the factory that had to be closed in the Kharkiv Oblast. PMI’s investment in the new factory will exceed $30M. The company expects to start production as early as the first quarter 2024. The new production facility is being built on a location proposed by UkraineInvest, the government’s investment attraction and support office.
Carlsberg Group, in turn, invested UAH1.5B in the opening of a new production line in the Kyiv Brewery, which will make it possible to increase can production by 80%. The Carlsberg Group in Ukraine includes three breweries in Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, and Lviv. At the beginning of the war, the company suspended operations at all three breweries. In 2023, the company began to gradually restore their factories’ operations.
