In the Black Sea, NATO ships have extended their tours by 50%, to 120 days, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg tells a Brussels press conference Tuesday. He says: “In response to Russia’s aggressive actions, NATO has substantially increased its presence in the Black Sea region over the past few years. At sea, in the air and on the ground.” Concorde Capital’s Zenon Zawada writes that Western leaders will avoid direct conflict: “While Stoltenberg has assured the public that NATO is enlarging its presence, we don’t expect any enhancements that will result in Russia attacking NATO ships or planes.”
