In an indicator of how far Ukraine has to go he said the share of steel produced by electrometallurgy, a low carbon method, “does not exceed 5%,” he said. By contrast, electrometallurgy shares are higher elsewhere: the Middle East – 94%; Mexico – 83%; the US – 71%; Turkey – 69%; India – 56%; Canada – 46%; and the EUnion – 42%.
