At the UN climate summit (COP28), the governments of 117 countries pledged to triple the use of renewable energy sources (RES) by 2030 to reduce the share of fossil fuels in global energy production. The pledge states that this will help remove CO2-emitting fossil fuels from the world’s energy system by 2050 the latest.

Even though China and India have declared their support for the initiative, neither country has supported the general pledge, which combines the increase of RES with the reduction of fossil fuel use.

Meanwhile, the European Commission advised Ukraine to develop green technologies as a revenue stream after joining the EU. It was noted there that the analysis of Ukraine’s industrial potential is currently underway in order to determine future priorities that will be necessary to generate stable revenue after European integration. This will allow foreign industrialists and investors to make informed decisions regarding interaction with Ukraine.
