Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said he does not support Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Victory Plan because “it is not a victory plan for Hungary.”
“We have not participated in war and will not participate now. You cannot win with this plan,” Orbán said.
He once again accused the EU of acting as a belligerent in the Russian-Ukrainian war, and Hungary believes that this conflict cannot be resolved at the front.
Also, head of the Slovak government Robert Fico said that Zelenskyy’s Victory Plan is controversial and divides countries, which is why the European Council has not adopted a clear position regarding it. He repeated that he supports Ukraine’s membership in the EU. However, according to Fico, Ukraine’s NATO membership, one of the Victory Plan’s points, could provoke a third world war.
Fico noted that the Russian Federation violated international law by invading Ukraine and seizing its territory, but he does not support proposals to supply missiles capable of hitting targets on Russian territory.
