The Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Olha Stefanishyna, stated that “a small number” of countries are not ready to give Ukraine more specific promises than NATO membership in the future. She added that there are less than ten such countries, and refused to name them.
“I will not speak and name these countries, but even in the caution of these countries’ position, we see a certain positive evolution, and I think it will have good results in two weeks at the NATO summit in Vilnius. We also count on this and see no reason for not making political decisions“, said Stefanishyna.
She noted that within the framework of the Ukraine-NATO Commission, at the headquarters in Brussels, “we had an excellent and fruitful“ discussion regarding Ukraine’s membership in NATO.
