The occupiers have attacked the Ukrainian energy system again, and the Zaporizhzhia NPP was de-energized entirely.

The European Commissioner for Energy, Kadri Simson, announced a grant contribution of more than €50M from the European Commission to the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine, the Ukraine Ministry of Energy reported.

According to Simson, the European community should be ready for Russian attacks on the Ukrainian energy infrastructure next winter and make efforts to minimize their consequences. Simson also called on European states to continue contributing to the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine, which will allow for the purchase of equipment necessary to restore damaged energy facilities.

The Energy Support Fund of Ukraine was established in the spring of 2022. It enables governments, international financial organizations, and private donors to provide substantial support for the Ukrainian energy sector.
