Scholz expressed his respect for the bravery of Ukrainians against Russian aggression. The two discussed the country’s eventual reconstruction, with Scholz announcing an expert conference in Berlin on October 25. Moreover, they also addressed Ukraine’s bid to join the EU, a process that can take years to complete. The German chancellor encouraged the Ukrainian Prime Minister in his course of reform, noting particularly that the rule of law and the judicial system are crucial for attracting reconstruction investment.
