Odesa remains Ukraine’s leading export gate, both at sea and on land.

У новому торгівельному сезоні Україна наростила експорт зернових на 50% попри атаки РФ на портову інфраструктуру.

During a meeting of the Moldova-Romania-Ukraine Regional Customs Coordination Group on cargo flow optimization organized by EUBAM (the EU Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine), the head of Odesa Customs said that in the first eight months of the year, the goods processed through Odesa Customs increased by 33% and amounted to $15.4B.

During the specified time, ₴22B in customs payments were sent to the state budget. A positive trend is observed in export operations, which increased by $3.2B, and import operations, with volumes increasing by $0.5B compared to the first eight months of 2023.

The joint checkpoint at the Reni-Giurgiulesti road connection remains strategically important, with 150 trucks transporting both exports and imports passing through it daily. Further simplification of the border crossing procedure for goods is foreseen. Checkpoints on the border with Romania and Moldova remain key routes for cargo transportation, confirmed the Odesa customs office.
