Norway has announced an additional NRK 2.7B ($242.38M) donation to strengthen Ukraine’s maritime defense. The funds will go toward protecting civilians from attacks, clearing landmines, and training Ukrainian military personnel. The funding is part of a total NRK 22.5B aid package for Ukraine for military support through 2025. Next year, Norway will help train Ukrainian F-16 pilots and technicians in Portugal.
Meanwhile, the White House is working to ramp up arms deliveries to Ukraine in the final weeks of Biden’s presidency. The US is trying to use the nearly $7B in aid that has already been approved.
According to the Polish Ministry of Defense, the country has transferred 1,300 units of military equipment worth about €4.5B to Ukraine since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion.
Meanwhile, the Italian government has signaled support for providing its 10th package of military assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
