NATO will discuss the war in Ukraine

NATO’s highest military body, the Military Committee, will meet on January 18-19 in a face-to-face format in Brussels. 32 defense staff chiefs will participate in a series of meetings to discuss issues of strategic importance for NATO. Alliance Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will join the Military Committee as the meetings convene to announce the latest policy goals and discuss the security challenges facing the Alliance. The Supreme Commander of the United Armed Forces for Transformation, General Philippe Lavigne, will lead the second meeting, devoted to the situation in Ukraine, as well as to the acceleration of the implementation of NATO’s Basic Concept of Conducting Combat Operations and the Program for the Development of the Armed Forces. At the final meeting, the Military Committee will discuss NATO’s ongoing support for Ukraine.
