NATO is preparing a multi-year support program for Ukraine.

Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg

During an official meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Commission in Brussels on April 4, the ministers of foreign affairs of the North Atlantic Alliance will discuss a potential multi-year support program for Kyiv.

Stoltenberg remarked that at the meeting the heads of foreign affairs of the Alliance will talk about the further strengthening of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and their transition from Soviet era weapons to NATO standard equipment.

The Secretary-General believes that after Russia’s war against Ukraine ends, the bloc should ensure Ukraine’s ability to deter possible further aggression.

Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba will participate in the Ukraine-NATO Commission meeting to discuss steps to strengthen Ukraine’s defensive capabilities, new arms supplies, ammunition production, and increased sanction pressure on Russia.
