NATO is insisting on Ukraine being allowed to strike inside Russia with Western weapons.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg believes that the time has come for certain allies to review their restrictions on the use of weapons they have provided to Ukraine against targets in Russian territory.

“The ban on Ukraine’s use of these weapons makes self-defense very difficult,” the NATO Secretary General said.

The head of the Polish Foreign Ministry, Radosław Sikorski, supports this position and argues that the West has to stop constantly limiting itself in what it does to support Ukraine.

The head of the Committee on European Affairs of the Bundestag suggests no longer preventing Ukraine from attacking Russian territory with Western weapons because this is an essential part of its self-defense. However, Chancellor Olaf Scholz opposes this view.

As well, the Vice Prime Minister of Italy does not agree with the NATO secretary general’s position. “We want peace, not the prerequisites for the third world war,” he said.

However, the head of Ukraine’s permanent delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Yehor Chernev, says that the White House is discussing giving permission to Ukraine to strike in Russian territory.
