Moscow has officially confirmed the Ukraine Armed Forces' advance into the Kursk region; the US and the EU react to Ukraine's actions.

In a message from the Ministry of Defense of Russia, it was noted that units of the Sever operational strategic group, together with the FSB, continue to oppose the Ukrainian military in the Sudzha and Korenevsky districts. They also claim that reinforcement units and Russian military reserves have been sent to the border and are carrying out airstrikes on the new positions of Ukraine’s Armed Forces.

Simultaneously, US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller noted that Washington is assisting Ukraine by providing equipment and consultation but does not always participate in day-to-day tactical operations.

“Ukraine does not reveal its exact tactics to us before its implementation, which is quite natural. After all, this is their war. We provide the opportunity to make decisions independently,” said Miller.

European Commission spokesperson Peter Stano reminded observers that Ukraine “has a legal right to defend itself, including striking an aggressor on its territory.”
