This is almost every fifth holder of a temporary protection visa. Since the start of the war, more than 460,000 Ukrainians have received such visas, according to a study by the migration platform EWL. Currently, there are between 355,000 and 390,000 Ukrainians in the Czech Republic. Due to the significant number of Ukrainians in the country, the Czech Republic is preparing a legislative draft of LexUkraine III, which will develop a mechanism for the extension of temporary protection visas until March 31, 2024, as well as extending the deadline for social benefits. The Czech government has already expressed support for the initiative, but it still must be approved by the parliament.
