US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said his country will soon provide a new $2.3B defense aid package for Ukraine that will include anti-tank weapons, Patriot missiles, and other air defense system munitions.

“Together with approximately 50 allies and partners, we will continue to provide the critical capabilities Ukraine needs to deter Russian aggression,” he said.

According to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, one of the most critical components of Ukrainian success in the short term is the availability of adequate air defense. The US is working to strengthen it, and probably before the NATO summit next week, we should expect new announcements in this regard.

In addition, according to Blinken, Ukraine’s economy has extraordinary potential with the right investments. “To reveal both military and economic potential, it is necessary to provide air defense to protect the territories in which investments have been made,” the State Secretary explained.
