Prime Minister of Lithuania Ingrid Šimonite announced in Kyiv a new package of military aid with air defense systems, which should arrive by the beginning of September. “The support package will include 10 short-range air defense systems, missiles, anti-drone and other equipment, weapons, and ammunition,” she clarified. In addition, Lithuania has allocated €35M to purchase radar stations and demining equipment for Ukraine. “By the end of autumn, we hope to be able to hand over more than 5,000 Lithuanian-made drones as well,” Šimonite added.
Meanwhile, Latvia confirmed that this year and in 2025, it will allocate €20M for the international drone coalition. In addition, the Baltic partner has prepared 1,400 drones, its largest batch, for shipment to Ukraine. At the same time, Norway has granted Ukraine a license to produce 155 mm shells and agreed to finance this process. In particular, the Nammo company concluded an agreement that would establish the licensed production of artillery shells by a Ukrainian defense company at Norway’s expense.
