In 2021, Kyiv moved to third place from seventh among 400 cities in the world in the intensity of traffic jams, reported analytical company TomTom. On average, Kyiv residents travel 56% longer than they would on empty roads. A year earlier, this figure was 51%. With such a busy road, a 30-minute trip takes 17 minutes longer. The average travel time in the capital increased by 3 minutes a day in 2021 compared to the year before. The only cities with a higher level of traffic jams on the roads than Kyiv are Istanbul and Moscow.
