Johnson insists on disconnecting Russia from SWIFT, but Germany is not ready for that.

The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom strongly insists on excluding Russia from the international payment system SWIFT, but German Chancellor Olaf Scholz warned him that neither Germany nor the European Union, in general, would support such sanctions, according to the Financial Times. Johnson has been sharply criticized because the anti-Russian sanctions announced by London in the first stage were quite lenient. The newspaper said that he is pushing his colleagues to harsher repression against Russia.
