The Prime Minister of Ukraine and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Yoko Kamikawa, discussed several cooperative prospects between the countries. On the agenda: support for the Peace Formula of the President of Ukraine, implementation of reforms, cooperation in infrastructure projects, collaboration in digital and nuclear industries, and preparation for the Recovery Conference in Tokyo.
According to PM Denys Shmyhal, Ukraine is interested in attracting leading Japanese companies to build production facilities in Ukraine. He added that concrete results are expected from the Recovery Conference in Tokyo next month.
In turn, Kamikawa confirmed that the Japanese contingent is preparing a few crucial documents for signature. Ukraine and Japan’s joint task is to involve as many private Japanese companies as possible in the reconstruction of Ukraine.
In addition, Shmyhal thanked Japan for allocating $1B for humanitarian projects and rebuilding and for its readiness to increase this amount to $4.5B through the mechanisms of international institutions.
