Japan may play a leadership role in the establishment

Japan, which will chair the G7 in 2023, is in a position to assume a key role in the formation of the fund for the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine, said the ambassador of Ukraine to Japan, Serhii Korsunskyi. He noted that Japan has already provided Ukraine with $1.6B in aid and that the country is an important element in the IMF, the World Bank, and other international financial institutions. The ambassador and other government officials expect Japan to become a leader in sourcing revenue for the Ukraine’s reconstruction fund, which the World Bank has already created. According to Korsunskyi, special working groups and divisions have been developed in Japan’s largest companies, which are engaged in the study of Ukraine’s restoration. According to the ambassador, Japan will play a key role in infrastructure and production projects.
