During the negotiations, the parties discussed strengthening the Ukrainian army, agreeing on the provision of a new, powerful defense package, returning Ukrainian children that have been illegally deported to Russia, and supporting Ukraine’s acquisition of EU membership and Euro-Atlantic integration.

The two presidents also discussed Poland’s participation in Ukraine’s reconstruction. Andrzej Duda assured Ukraine of Poland’s support on its path to EU membership and believes that Ukraine should receive additional security guarantees at the NATO summit in Vilnius. He also spoke in favor of Ukraine eventually becoming a member of the Alliance.
