In Ukraine’s foreign trade, imports still significantly prevail over exports.

Ukrainian entrepreneurs need diplomatic support to export to 16 countries.

According to the State Statistics Service, Ukraine imported goods worth $27.55B in January- May, which is 8.3% more than last year’s corresponding period. At the same time, exports increased by 1.7% to $16.83B. Thus, the negative balance amounted to $10.7B (last year, it was also negative – $8.88B). Ukraine traded with partners from 220 countries of the world.

Compared to the first five months of last year, exports of ferrous metals (+7%) to $1.21B and fats/oils of animal and vegetable origin (+9.5%) to $2.67B increased the most. At the same time, exports of grain and electric cars showed negative dynamics – the decrease was 1.3%, to ₴4.57B and 61.9%, to $310.9B, respectively.

Land transport vehicles (+39.2%, up to $3.31B), nuclear reactors, boilers, and machines (+38.2%, up to $2.48B) remain the leader in import growth. The largest volume reduction was experienced by fuel imports (-33.1%) to $3.44B.
