Housing commissioning in Ukraine increased by 13% in the first nine months of the year compared to the corresponding period last year – up to 5.45 million square meters, reported the State Statistics Service.

Since the beginning of the year, 3.26 million square meters have been commissioned in cities (59.8% of the total volume) and 2.19 million in rural areas. In particular, 66,500 apartments were commissioned, 9.2% more than in January-September 2022.

The largest number of residential units were introduced in the Kyiv region (18.5% of the total volume), in Kyiv (15.4%), as well as in the Lviv, Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Zakarpattia regions. The increase in the volume of new housing was recorded in all regions of Ukraine except for five areas. The Kharkiv region showed the largest growth (+385.8%).

At the same time, five regions recorded a drop in the volume of housing units: Odesa (-57.2% compared to the corresponding period last year), Poltava (-46.8%), Zaporizhzhia (-25.3%), Chernihiv Oblast ( -21.6%), and Zhytomyr (-11.1%).
