An agrarian from Zhytomyr Village grows the world’s most expensive mushroom, truffles. In the village of Vasylivka, farmer Oleksandr Dzhyha planted an oak plantation, the roots of which are used to grow the precious variety of mushrooms. “I can collect up to 8 kilograms in one day,” says Oleksandr Dzhiga. Restaurateurs can pay up to €7,000 per kilogram. The farmer sells its products to Ukrainian and European restaurants and plans to compete with global truffle suppliers.
