In the first quarter of 2024, Ukraine’s export of agri-food products amounted to about $6.5B, which is 4% less than in the first quarter of 2023.
It is noted that revenues from the sale of meat and meat by-products increased by 20% and amounted to $243M. Poultry meat remains the defining product, with exports increasing in both natural and value terms – 112,000 tons and $222M. Also, revenues from exported ready-made and canned meat products increased by 150% to approximately $13M.
However, the export of dairy products decreased to $43M (-16%). In the current year, more than 15,000 tons of eggs worth about $17M were exported, but export prices for Ukraine continue to fall.
Sales of Ukrainian honey increased by 93%, and exports amounted to almost 23,000 tons, or $44M.
Revenue from the export of fruits, berries, and nuts increased by 47% – up to $87M. Exporters realized the greatest profit from the export of walnuts ($38M).
