Ukraine has received 1.9 billion Special Drawing Rights (SDRs), equivalent to about $2.7 billion, from the IMF, the First Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), Kateryna Rozhkova, announced on Facebook on August 23. “The funds are from the IMF’s $650 billion SDRs giveaway to help poorer countries recover from the Covid 19 pandemic more quickly. However, unlike most money from the IMF, the SDR allocation is being made with no strings attached. “It will be a great gift for our country on the 30th anniversary of independence. These funds will help overcome the effects of the COVID-19 crisis and boost our economy,” President Zelenskiy said
