Vitrenko said he would appeal to EU competition authorities and take Gazprom to international arbitration. In 2018, the Stockholm Arbitration Tribunal ruled in favor of Naftogaz in a dispute with Gazprom, awarding Ukraine’s oil and gas company $4.6 billion. Vitrenko led the Naftogaz legal team that won the dispute.
