Hungary has rejected the EU’s proposal to establish a €100B fund to support Ukraine, arguing that backing such an initiative would amount to “financing war.” This statement was made by an advisor to Hungarian Prime Minister Balázs Orbán. According to him, the funding would prioritize European interests, undermine Europe’s competitiveness, weaken border security, and divert resources from citizens, families, and local communities. Orbán also claimed that Ukraine has requested approximately €1T and warned that the proposed fund would be just the start.
Meanwhile, Polish President Andrzej Duda criticized both the allies and Ukraine, regarding military aid delivered through the Rzeszów airport. He emphasized the strategic importance of Eastern Poland’s infrastructure, particularly Rzeszów-Jasionka airport, which serves as the main logistics hub for aid to Ukraine.
“Ukrainians and our allies think that Rzeszów airport and our highways supposedly belong to them. But this is ours. Therefore, if someone doesn’t like it, we close it and say, ‘Goodbye’, we do repairs. And deliver to Ukraine by sea, by air, drop from parachutes, combine, if you don’t think you need us,” Duda said.
