How Ukraine’s budget was funded in March: $9B in external financing and $4B in taxes and fees.

In March, the state budget’s general fund received ₴158.1B (over $4B) in taxes, fees, and mandatory payments. About ₴105.7B was received from taxes and ₴45.8B from the State Customs Service, but due to the border blockade, the state budget missed out on ₴6.3B in customs payments. At the same time, ₴3.1B came in the form of grants from foreign partners.

According to March’s results, the general and special funds of the state budget received ₴225.9B in taxes, fees, and other payments.

At the same time, in March the general fund of the state budget of Ukraine received about $9B of external preferential financing. Among the donors:

  1. EU – $4.9B
  2. Canada – $1.5B
  3. Japan – $1.1B
  4. IMF – $880M
  5. The UK – $515M

Ukraine received a $1.5B Growth Foundation Development Policy Loan from Japan and Britain through the World Bank mechanism. The financing consists of $984M in guarantees from the Government of Japan and $516M in guarantees from Britain.
