Great Britain and the Netherlands will work on creating an aviation coalition for Ukraine: Belgium and Poland are ready to join, and Germany will abstain.

Prime Minister of Great Britain Rishi Sunak and Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte agreed on this course of action at the summit of the Council of Europe in Iceland.

It also became known that Belgium is ready to train Ukrainians on the F-16, reported the DeMorgen. The Belgian government has stressed that it cannot supply the planes, but it can teach the pilots.

Poland has a similar position. However, it is ready to continue providing MiG-29s for Ukraine.

The head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Dmytro Kuleba, is convinced that an “aviation coalition” for Ukraine will be formed this year, and the country will manage to resolve the issues preventing the provision of Western fighter jets.

At the same time, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that his country would not be a party to an agreement on combat aircraft.
