Germany votes for continuity and stability.

The preliminary results from the country’s parliamentary election on September 26 suggested that voters had not opted for any drastic change. Both leading parties, the conservative CDU and the center-left SDP seemed to have secured almost equal support, with the latter nevertheless easing ahead and poised to end 16 years of rule by its political rival, yet coalition partner. Ukraine, its eastern and central European partners, and others, await to see what the outcome will be and what changes it might entail.
