According to Bloomberg, German Minister of Foreign Affairs Annalena Baerbock says Ukraine needs heavy weapons. She noted that daily reports and pictures of atrocities in Ukraine make it all the more urgent to send additional equipment to help the nation fend off Russian aggression. “What is clear is that Ukraine needs more military equipment, above all heavy weapons,” Baerbock told reporters before talks with EU counterparts in Luxembourg. “Now is not the time for excuses, now is the time for creativity and pragmatism.” Germany is coming under pressure to supply Ukraine with more weapons, including tanks, although the exact extent of assistance already provided is unclear as the government says officials in Kyiv have asked it not to publicize details.
