A new support package from Germany includes 24 armored personnel carriers, three minesweeping tanks, and more than 1,000 155mm artillery pieces. Moreover, four Bandvagn 206 (BV206) vehicles and a BIBER bridge paver are also part of the package.
In addition, Germany is giving Ukraine missiles for the IRIS-T air defense system, an anti-sea mine system, and a Satcom video surveillance system, among other equipment and munitions. This year, Germany wants to train another 10,000 Ukrainian soldiers.
Meanwhile, the High Representative of the EU, Josep Borrell, said that by the end of March, Ukraine will receive more than 500,000 of the million promised artillery shells.
At the same time, the head of the Estonian Defense Ministry, Hanno Pevkur, said that the EU will supply Ukraine with 1.1 million by the end of the year. The production capacity of the EU will increase to 1.5 million shells per year.
At the same time, Bloomberg emphasizes that Ukraine is dangerously short of artillery shells and anti-aircraft missiles resulting from delays in assistance from Europe and the US. Reports from the front indicate that the situation has become complicated, and it’s difficult for Ukrainian forces to contain the enemy.
