Germany has provided Ukraine with a large package of military aid, and hundreds of thousands more shells are being prepared.

Soldiers from the 371 Panzer Grenadier Battalion from Marienberg in Saxony loaded the “Marder” infantry fighting vehicle onto a freight trailer on the railway.

Germany handed over a package of military aid to Ukraine, which included nine Carrier Warthog tracked command all-terrain vehicles, 18,000 155 mm shells, six WISENT 1 demining tanks, trucks, engineering vehicles, grenade launchers, drones, and much more.

In addition, 20 Marder armored vehicles, an unspecified number of Patriot missiles, and another 10,000 rounds of artillery ammunition from the Bundeswehr’s arsenal are being prepared for transfer.

In the second half of the year, Berlin will hand over 180,000 projectiles purchased through the Czech initiative to Kyiv. In addition, another 100,000 shells are expected to arrive in the fourth quarter as Germany has signed an ammunition purchase agreement with one more country.

For its part, the Czech government has increased its contribution to its own initiative to purchase ammunition for Ukraine from third countries, but the amount has yet to be disclosed.
