German politicians from the opposition and coalition parties call on their government to supply cruise missiles to Ukraine.

Long-range Taurus missiles

Berlin should “immediately” provide long-range Taurus missiles to Kyiv, said Roderich Kiesewetter, a member of the Bundestag from the opposition Christian Democratic Union (CDU).

He noted that the Bundeswehr has 600 Taurus, of which about 450 are not ready for combat but can be modernized by the MBDA company and prepared for shipment to Ukraine.

For his part, Markus Faber of the Free Democratic Party (VDP), which is part of the ruling coalition, noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine successfully use Storm Shadow missiles supplied by Great Britain. According to him, this testifies to the importance of this type of weapon for Ukraine, which is currently defending itself against a full-scale Russian invasion.
