Gas prices force glass producers to shut down production.

Gas prices force glass producers to shut down production.

Recently, three glass manufacturers have stopped production completely, and the rest have entered the stage of production downtime to prevent the complete shutdown of furnaces. The reason is that gas determines up to 50% of the cost of glass products. Therefore, a significant increase in energy prices leads to a sharp rise in the prices of Ukrainian products. According to the association of glass producers, more than 12,000 people work at the glass enterprises of Ukraine. However, due to such high gas prices, these jobs are under threat, as production is rapidly becoming unprofitable and is in the process of bankruptcy and complete closure.
