G7 ambassadors plan to agree on $18.4B for Ukraine.

At a meeting of the G7 countries and international financial institutions on Thursday, it was decided to allocate $18.4B to Ukraine to finance the budget for the next three months, reported Reuters. “We have mobilized $18.4B in budget support, including $9.2B announced ahead of the Petersberg Summit, to help Ukraine close its funding gap and provide basic services to the Ukrainian people,” the G7 finance ministers said.  This amount is necessary for the functioning of Ukraine in May, June, and July, given the calculations of the government, the IMF, and the World Bank on the need for monthly funding of the budget of $5B. The G7 ambassadors were expected to agree on $15B, but it was assumed that the final decision was higher thanks to the support of multilateral development banks.
