France to provide €2B in military aid to Ukraine and is considering the provision of additional Mirage fighter jets.

French President Emmanuel Macron announced €2B in Ukrainian military aid during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He added that the new package will include MILAN anti-tank missiles, air defense systems, MICA missiles for Mirage fighters, Mistral anti-aircraft missile systems, VAB AMX-10 RX armored vehicles, and ammunition, including remotely controlled munitions. Macron assured that France would “continue its commitment” and noted that Kyiv and Paris had already “made progress in cooperation on satellite and intelligence activities.”

According to the French president, French support would also be complemented by equipment production in Ukraine through partnerships with French defense companies. The countries’ defense ministries have been tasked with working out the details and ensuring the implementation of agreements on joint weapons production.

In addition, the leaders of the two states discussed increasing supplies of Mirage 2000 fighters to Ukraine, which have already become an important part of Ukraine’s air defense system.
