French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu said his country will deliver hundreds of armored vehicles to Ukraine in 2024 and early 2025 as part of a new military aid package. Paris has also prepared a batch of Aster anti-aircraft missiles for the SAMP/T air defense system. The minister added that France is developing remote-controlled munitions for delivery to Ukraine this summer.
At the same time, the head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, at a meeting with the head of the National Assembly of France, Yael Braun-Pivet, said: “Ukraine is ready to invest in French defense technologies and purchase French military products directly. The capabilities of the Ukrainian defense industry must be included in the European military production plan.”
On the other hand, during his visit to Brazil, French President Emmanuel Macron could not change the opinion of his counterpart, Lula da Silva, regarding the war in Ukraine.
“I am so far from Ukraine that I do not feel the obligation to feel the same nervousness as the French, who are closer,” said Silva.
